A little pricey, but if your kids make videos and are starwars fans then its fantastic. My son just loves it and its works very well! Great work guys!

Ive waited my whole life to be able to render my own light saber or blaster effects! Made a great video of my kids…. was a huge hit! App is so easy to use.

This is a really good app for visual effects editing for Star Wars, or as I found, some Marvel aspects (Thor’s lightning, Iron Man’s repulsors, Loki’s staff beams). My only problem with it is that it crashes waaayy too often. So be sure to save your work after each step

This is just what I need for all my lightsaber animations!!! so glad that they released a very cheap animating program for just lightsabers. 5 STAR!!!! Just one thing i cant use the app anymore cause it says its damaged someone help if possible..... i cant delete it either for some reason

i try to open it and something pops up saying 1.1.1 and then nothing happens

It installed fully and is on my dock, but when I click on it the startup screen shows then closes and nothing happens after that. The light under the app is still on in the dock. Please fix then I will rate above one star. - iMac 27" Quad-Core i7 4 GB RAM (Summer of 2010)

This app is awesome! Worth the price to see the huge smile on your childs face! My son is a huge SciFi fan. I downloaded this App, shot some footage quickly with my iPhone of him with a light saber and a blaster pistol and within 30 minutes after downloading, I had some awesome Star Wars-like footage. He was so impressed. I uploaded it to Facebook and my friends and family were all amazed. As soon as we have some time, we are already planning a "movie" that we will be making in the back yard with his favorite space guns. $30 is not bad for this program considering the amazing effects you get and the impressive final results. It does take a little patience to draw over every frame, but a nice trick is to keep one hand on the mouse or trackpad and the other on the forward arrow key. Draw, advance, draw, advance... Once you get a groove going, it goes more quickly than you think. Also, you can always go back and adjust or mask areas if you need to afterwards. I originally downloaded this App several days ago and there were some problems with the quality of the final, saved file. But tonight I discovered that it has been updated and the author has fixed the bugs. So I have to give it all five stars. Output is equal to my original movie files from my iPhone and from my digital camcorder. Bravo! Lets make some movies! Not so long ago, in a galaxy not so far away... there was this awesome app that made my kid the coolest one on the block!

First of all; for the folks that are confused on how to start the application you need to drag your .mov file onto the SaberFX icon on your Dock. I admit that this is confusing and should be changed. Now on to the review. I would have have $50.00 for this app. It does exactly what i need it to do without the exense of those "Other" software suites. I bought this becuase my son was bugging me to create special effects within his lego stop motion movies. LUCKILY I found this app otherwise I would have bought one of the "Other" suites that cost $1,000+ for bells and whistles that I dont want or need. For those who think that the cost is too much for this app. I disagree. This isnt a company. Its just a guy named Joe that built this software to fill a need. I had a problem with the first version and Joe was extremely responsive and fixed the issue.

Great idea but buggy. Spent 30 minutes on a clip then it wont save... Ive had to reinstallit twice and really wish I hadnt spent my money on this. The price should equate to a polished product which this is far from. If you are interested I would wait and see if the product is improved in the future as there is very little value for money now.

Ok, I got this today and it is great. Did some test videos they all look terrific. It is kind of pricey but it worth it. Its a lot easier than having to do it on photoshop or final cut. There are a few glitches but if you are just trying to make a short fun film with your friends, this is the app for you.

how do i start the application? someone said to drag the .mov onto the app in the dock, where do i find that .mov?

I bought this because it is the only saber effect thing that works on mac. It has many glitches and is not worth the money.

Ok so I was home sick from work today and looking for something to do. That is when I found this app in the app store. I downloaded it and let me tell you, it is amazing!! The things you can do in this app with a few hours would take days in other programs. This app does just as it says and nothing more. You will not find sound effects or anything other than a lightsaber, force lighting and blaster effects. But it does an amazing job doing them. I already made my first video and though it took some time (you have to go frame by frame) it looked amazing. If you are a Star Wars fan buy this app and make your own film today!!! :)

For a simple rotoscoping software, this is pretty darn good. I use the professional graphic editing software and figured I would try this out for fun. Its easy, its fun and its great to so easy to start using. Within five minutes I had the basics down. I played around with the various saber and lighting effects, but then realized that if you tweak a few layers and imagination, it can be used for gun flares and simple explosion effects. Once you play with this, it might peak your interest into furthering your creative skills with Adobe After Effects, Cheetah or (for the brave) Maya. Fun, Easy and accessible to all ages

This is a an app that takes patience. You can add lightsabers, force lightning, blaster bolts, and glowing dots. Very cool, but it will take a while to create a good final product. You need to have patience and cant rush. This could be a little less money, though.

SaberFX its a great program for special effects, the only problem is that is too expensive and have only a few effects. For this price I think SaberFX should do an update giving more effects to use. To use SaberFX you need to have patience to do a good work. SaberFX is great, but could be less money.

It may cost a lot, but look at it this way. If you made it in Final Cut Express or Studio or any other video effects maker, it would take 3 - 4 times as long. This is SOOOO much easier to do. (Now if they could just add HD support.)

Works great, but could include some more effects, such as the following: -Fireballs -More color possibilities -COPY AND PASTE! -Cloud effect Besides that, its really good
